Run From Financial Experts

      9 Comments on Run From Financial Experts

It seems the brain blocks your own decision making intelligence, and tends to shut down when you hear an “expert’s” advice. Rather scary research, if you think of the financial gurus who make our decisions in the stock markers and banks.

Check out Dr. Greg Berns’ fascinating finds about the brain shutting down and you’ll see how people stop using their own best judgments – when they begin to rely on experts.

Ask yourself if this brain nuance could be responsible for your lack of financial progress? Then consider an anonymous person’s:

Definition of Expert:

X = the unknown in algebra;

spurt = a drip under pressure.

Perhaps it’s time to toss your own brainpower back into money matters for a new win. What do you think?

    Thanks Wally, your continually amaze me at the wide range of reading and the deep reflections you bring to discussion topics. What would we all do without your encouraging leadership style that inspires so many of us!

    Wally, thanks for your kind words. Financial intelligence is certainly not my own highest, and I question why we’ve made the system so complex that ordinary folks no longer speak the language. Yet, this investigation leaves me far more knowledgeable and willing to grow in my own economic acumen so I can see what is going well and spot the opposites:-) You?

    You make a good case for what happened here, Robyn!

    All of a sudden we look more to the human brain for answers and they are there! It’s also a guard again researchers telling us they only – have answers from Science. Instead we test their ideas, affirm what works in our own lives, and make better decisions based more on our own brains rather than the expert’s brain alone:-)

    Goes to show why so many folks fell into Ponzi schemes. Madoff certainly tapped into this aspect of human behavior.

    We each need to do our own research though we might not think we are experts. For instance, this would also connect to getting a second opinion from another doctor.

    Interesting research!
